Moyas celebrated 25th wedding anniversary
Jerry and Sonya Moya of Los Lunas celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Dec. 6. The couple was married in 1986 in the University of New Mexico Alumni Chapel in Albuquerque.
Jerry is a professional development facilitator for Belen Schools, and is currently deployed with the New Mexico Army National Guard as a flight medic in Afghanistan.
He is a Belen High School graduate, has a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Arts, both from UNM. He belongs to the VFW, New Mexico High School Coach’s Association and Marine Corp League.
He enjoys snow and water skiing, mountain bike riding, backpacking, Jeep off roading and motorcycle riding.
Sonya is a senior account executive for Presbyterian Health. She has a bachelor’s degree in art from UNM. She belongs to Toastmasters International, UNM-Valencia Campus Advisory, Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and New Mexico State University Sports Boosters.
She enjoys snow and water skiing, running and all types of cardio training, camping, hiking, gardening and raising malamutes and huskies.
The couple has one son, Jesse Armando Moya, who is a sophomore at NMSU.
The Moyas will celebrate their anniversary with a trip to Costa Rica when Jerry returns from Afghanistan.
