Mack G. Henington
1938-2011
Mack G. Henington, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20. He was currently residing in Tucson, Ariz.
Mack was the first born son of Florence and Graham Henington, born in Lubbock , Texas, and raised in Belen. He received the All-American High School Lineman Award by the Wigwam Wiseman of America his senior year of high school.
He married Sheila Seery in Belen in 1957. Mack graduated from the University of New Mexico where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He received his Ph.D in education at Kansas State University. Mack was an educator with life experiences in coaching, classroom teacher, principal, superintendent of schools and was a dean at Albuquerque Vocational School until he retired.
Mack enjoyed his retirement designing and making outdoor wood furniture, which he sold at different trade markets throughout the Southwest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Graham Henington of Belen, and brother, Rex Henington of Los Lunas.
Mack is survived by sons, Chris (Jill) Henington of Kansas City, Kan., Mack Coy Henington and (Ruth) Montoya of Junction City, Kan., two daughters, Sandra (Kent) Strang of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., Sheila Sue (Steve) Burch of Junction City, Kan.; five grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan and Ryan Henington, Steven and Corey Burch; two brothers, Scott (Janette) Henington of Highland Ranch, Colo., Bruce (Vicki) Henington of Denton, Texas; sister-in-law, Sue Henington of Los Lunas; a stepmother, Edna Henington of Belen; his devoted companion and care taker, Mary Kokenge of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Belen at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Boyd Morerod presiding. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery.

Luis Zamora
1953-2011
Luis Zamora, age 58, born in Jarales, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larazo Zamora and Teresita Frezquez; stepmother, Lucia Baca; and brother, Joe Zamora.
Luis is survived by his children, Cresencio Armijo, Luis Zamora Jr., Carla Zamora, Baby Cakes and spouse, Rhythm Tafoya, and Amanda Zamora; grandchildren, Cresencio Jr., Savanna, Emilio, Joshua, Shyann, Erica, and Tearza; two special cousins, Rosie Ornels and Angelina Chavez.
