Firefighters save Peralta residence
Fire crews salvaged a Peralta residence last Wednesday after the home's attic caught fire earlier that night along N.M. 47.
About 8:20 p.m., fire crews responded to a call that the house was on fire on the 3000 block of N.M. 47 and worked quickly to extinguish the blaze.
Peralta Fire Chief John Dear said crews were able to knock down the fire in a timely manner. He said there was minimal damage to the home.
No one was at the home at the time of the incident. There were no injuries.
Dear said the fire could have spread to other areas inside the home and to nearby structures in the area.
"(Crews) were able to get water on the fire and get it knocked down," Dear said. "They did a good job of saving the residence."
Crews from Peralta, Bosque Farms and Valencia-El Cerro responded to the fire.
