Two women, one man arrested and charged with pirating in BF
Bosque Farms police arrested three people on felony charges of selling pirated audio CDs and DVDs last weekend from a flea market in the village, said Bosque Farms Police Chief Greg Jones.
In a press release, Jones said Bosque Farms police, along with an investigator from the Recording Industry Association of America, conducted an undercover operations investigation at the flea market on the 1800 block of Bosque Farms Blvd.
Police arrested Maria Navarez, 19, of Albuquerque, Olivia Renteria-Delacruz, 36, of El Cerro Mission and Carlos Jimenez-Garcia, 28, of Albuquerque.
All three suspects are charged with having possession of unauthorized recordings and selling the items without required labeling.
Jimenez-Garcia and Nevarez are also charged with conspiracy. All three have bonded out of the Valencia County Detention Center in Los Lunas. Police seized more than 500 pirated movies and more than 600 audio CDs as part of the operation.
The items were turned over to the FBI for possible prosecution at the federal level, the press release said.
