THE CITY OF BELEN RECYCLING CENTER is open every Monday (except holidays) from 1 to 5 p.m. and every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The center, located at 832 N. Main St., is open to all city and county residents. For information, call Robert Rimorin at 966-2735.

THE EIGHTH ANNUAL COPS AND KIDS FUN RUN/WALK will be held on Sunday, April 1. The Los Lunas Police Department is inviting the community to participate and register at the LLPD, 660 Main St., or download the registration form on the village’s website. All proceeds benefit local youth in the community.
THE BELEN PUBLIC LIBRARY is accepting book donations from the public. Children’s books are always needed. Books may be dropped off at the library, or you can arrange for a pickup by calling the library at 966-2600.
A SPECIAL DONATION account has been set up by the Christ the King Lutheran Church at Wells Fargo Bank for Becky and Richard Johnson and their two sons who lost their home in a fire. Donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank, Acct. No. 7296510030.
BELEN ELKS LODGE, 19513 N.M. 314 in Belen, will be holding bingo at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Proceeds will be applied to Elks charities.
DONATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED for Belen resident Antonio Marquez, who has esophageal cancer. Help is needed to pay for medical expenses. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY of Valencia County office closed as of  July 1. To contact Habitat, call Bill Brown at 864-0718, or by mail at 208 Doering St., Belen, N.M., 87002. Habitat is still conducting business, and will be for some time to come.
THE ABUNDANT GRACE FREE STORE has reopened at a new location, 203 Rio Communities Blvd. (south of the Dollar General). The store is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Thursdays (for seniors) and Saturday. For information, call 359-8406.
