Publish your pictures
For more than 100 years, we, the Valencia County News-Bulletin, have happily and proudly published photographs showing the history of the county and the people who have lived here.
We have always enjoyed sharing photos of those special events in people’s lives, and we will continue to do so as long as folks keep sending them in. Lately, we’ve noticed our “Friends and Neighbors” photos are running a bit low.
We encourage everyone to share their photos with us and with the entire county through the News-Bulletin. For a century, our readers have looked forward to seeing their neighbor’s photos and a variety of events in the county that we couldn’t, for some reason or another, attend.
Recently, we published numerous photos of locals — young and old — after the hunting season. We’ve continued to honor servicemen and women in “Service Notes,” which may include a photo of the person. And we always welcome “Now Being Read” pictures of folks holding a copy of the News-Bulletin on their travels all around the world.
Sharing our history through photographs is nothing new. It’s a way to let people know what’s happening in our community, in our lives. And what better way to share those memories than through a photograph in your community newspaper.
So all you moms and dads, scout leaders, coaches and everyone in between, dust off your cameras and get to taking pictures of Valencia County.
If you have a photo you want to share, send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or to Clara Garcia, P.O. Box 25, Belen, N.M., 87002. Be sure to include your name and telephone number along with the names of the people in the photo and a description of what is happening. Digital print-outs usually are not of high enough quality for reproduction.
