Belen Consolidated Schools students are drawing, painting and expressing their artistic side throughout the month.

Belen Middle School seventh-graders Amanda Kurtz and Caleb Ramsell hold their original cartoon drawings.

March is Youth Art Month, a national program focusing on the value of art and art education for children. To participate in Youth Art Month, schools district wide have spearheaded art projects, some encompassing school wide art projects, for their students.

Iris Silva, a kindergartner at La Promesa Elementary School, crafted together this mixed media art piece. The crayon character is titled “La Llorona.”

Below is a snip it of the artistic talent one can see throughout each of the schools’ projects.

La Promesa Elementary School student William Barela created this mixed media art piece of an eye. Barela is a sixth grader.
