LOS LUNAS SCHOOLS’ Child Find Program screens children whose parents are concerned with their speech, language and fine and gross motor development. Vision and hearing screening are also part of the Child Find screening. If you have concerns about your child’s development in these areas, call 866-8337 to schedule a screening appointment. Screening is don every Thursday morning at Los Lunas Schools’ Special Services Child Find office, 343 Main St. If a delay is suspected in one or more of the areas screened, you will be asked to bring your child in for a complete evaluation. THE TOWN OF TOMÉ LAND GRANT is offering its annual scholarship to full-time students, a resident or heir of the Town of Tomé Land Grant and who have a 2.5 grade point average. Applicants must compose and type a concise narrative statement expressing their educational goals and philosophy and how the scholarship will assist them in meeting their goals. PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING to the Belen Area Food Pantry which depends exclusively on gifts to provide food for eligible families within the Belen Consolidated School District. The food pantry can purchase 2,000 pounds of food for less than $300. The food pantry, located at 115 S. Fourth St. in Belen, is open from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Monday,Wednesday and Friday; and from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Donations can be mailed or delivered to the same address. THE BEST STORE, a thrift store and clothing bank at 320 Becker Ave. in Belen, has clothing, furniture and hard items. It’s a student-run store.
