A CAR WASH TO BENEFIT Israel Castillo will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the O’Reilly Auto Parts store at 19335 N. Main St. in Belen. Funds raised will help with Israel’s medical costs. He is medically fragile and has been in the intensive care unit at UNM Hospital for the last seven months.

A PANCAKE BREAKFAST and bake sale will be held beginning at 8 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen’s to raise funds to send Kathleen Hill, long time teacher and recipient of this year’s New Mexico Educator Award. They will continue the work they began last year at a Mountain top school in Nan Colo, Haiti.

THE BOSQUE FARMS RODEO ASSOCIATION’S COWBOY’S NIGHT OUT will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Cowboy Hall. PADILLA, of Isleta and a UNM nursing student, is asking for donations to help fund a trip to Kenya in October hosted by Project Helping Hands, a non-profit organization based in the United States. The cost of the trip for each student is $3,400. PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING to the Belen Area Food Pantry which depends exclusively on gifts to provide food for eligible families within the Belen Consolidated School District. The food pantry can purchase 2,000 pounds of food for less than $300. The food pantry, located at 115 S. Fourth St. in Belen, is open from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Monday,Wednesday and Friday; and from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Donations can be mailed or delivered to the same address.
