THE MANSION PLAYERS YOUTH THEATRE will be performing a set a plays and monologues in Los Lunas Peralta and Belen. Kids, ages 8-15, will perform three short plays, “The Great Pandemonium,” “The Beloved Dearly” and “Where Have All The Lightning Bugs Gone.” Admission is free. BRIANNA K. PADILLA, of Isleta and a UNM nursing student, is asking for donations to help fund a trip to Kenya in October hosted by Project Helping Hands, a non-profit organization based in the United States. The cost of the trip for each student is $3,400. PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING to the Belen Area Food Pantry which depends exclusively on gifts to provide food for eligible families within the Belen Consolidated School District. The food pantry can purchase 2,000 pounds of food for less than $300. The food pantry, located at 115 S. Fourth St. in Belen, is open from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Monday,Wednesday and Friday; and from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Donations can be mailed or delivered to the same address. THE BEST STORE, a thrift store and clothing bank at 320 Becker Ave. in Belen, has clothing, furniture and hard items. It’s a student-run store.
