Deaths and funerals (07/14/12)
The love and bond between a mother and daughter transcends all space and time.
Katie passed away early Tuesday morning after spending the previous day and night surrounded by her family and friends, attending her mother’s funeral and wake.
Katie and her mother, Debbie, were friends, caregivers and a loving mother and daughter for all of their 31 years together.
We almost lost Katie as a small infant when we first found out about her heart trouble. Throughout all the years of their lives, their love and support for each other grew and grew.
When Debbie’s health started failing two years ago, young Katie became the caregiver, lovingly staying by Debbie’s side. When Debbie passed away last Friday, Katie was very, very sick with phenomena.
Katie refused to leave her mother’s side, and even through her pain, anguish and sickness, she stayed with us and supported all of us through Debbie’s funeral and wake on Monday.
Early Tuesday morning, Katie’s phenomena, her broken heart and suffering were more than her weakened heart could bear.
Her family wishes to thank the Rio Grande Estates Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department for all of their efforts to help Katie.
In the end, a mother’s and daughter’s love is the most powerful force in the world. They lived their entire lives together and now they will spend eternity together in a much better place.
God bless you Debbie and Katie. We all love and miss you both.
