Gesiakowski, who played last season at Prairie View A&M in Texas, also won the slam dunk contest.

The Blaze won the high school girls division. Their roster included Valencia High players Julia Herrera, Mariah Ibuado and Kristina Contratto.

The high school boys division was won by the Divas, who have strong ties to Los Lunas High. Their roster was comprised of Chris Sanchez, Jarrell Harper, Ben Romero and Martin Mendoza.

First place in the middle school girls division went to the Blaze, who had Cheyenne Larson, Leandra Sanchez, Brittany Saiz and Kylee Jenkins.

A boys middle school team called the Heat won its division, using Greg Melton, Devon Heyborne and Kayden Walker.

The Blaze reached the overall middle school finals, where they lost to the Heat in the championship game.

VHS girls coach Shannon Vigil said there were about 12 county businesses that helped sponsor the event. She said she is extremely grateful to each business for its support.
