Valeria Trujillo Beverly
Died 2012
Valeria Trujillo Beverly was called home to the Lord on Aug. 17.
During her long, fulfilling life, Valeria spent her free time sewing, making arts and crafts, spending time with her family and sharing stories from her youth. She enjoyed a simple life, choosing to stay close to home and her family.
Valeria is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Just and Vincintita Trujillo; and her sister, Nora Chavez. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Joe McDuffie; her son, Joseph Beverly III; brother, Tommy Trujillo and wife, Flugencia; her granddaughters and their husbands, Valerie and Mike Selinger, Aliza and Nick Tafoya, Hope and Rico Pino; her very special great-grandson, Logan Tafoya; granddaughter, Traci Reedy; and cousin Toni Tafoya Burke. Also surviving Valeria are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A service will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 23.

Benito “Ben” Serna
Died 2012
Benito “Ben” Serna, age 78, a resident of Bosque Farms since 1968, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Aug. 18.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores “Dee” Serna; daughter, Yvette Ortega and husband, Rupert; granddaughters, Jennifer Ortega and Jenelle Ortega; siblings, Willy Serna, Martha Serna and husband, Ruben, Claudia Huerena and husband, Alex, Celedon Serna Jr. and wife, Dolores, and Jimmy Serna.
Benito served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and a field superintendent. Bennie loved to bowl and served as a director in the Albuquerque Men’s Bowling Association.
After he retired, his favorite hobby became carving. He was also a hunter.
Viewing and services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 24, at French – University Chapel. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Lopez, Michael Goode, Ernie Ulibarri, Lorenzo Pino, Joseph Serna, and Tommy Serna. Honorary pallbearers will be Karlos Ulibarri and Fabian Ulibarri.

Raymond Silva
Raymond “Mono” Silva, age 32, a resident of Belen, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 19.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Sally Silva; father, Lorenzo Castillo; brothers, Micheal and Robert; sister, Cheyenne; grandmother, Marcella Pacheco; children, Lawrence, Luciano, Serenity, Diego and Raena; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a viewing at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. A final viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 24, with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.

Lucy A. Wortman
Died 2012
Lucy A. Wortman, age 83, a resident of Los Lunas, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 18, at home with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. Wortman is survived by her husband, Robert Arias; children, Cathy Munoz and husband, Cruz, Theresa Baca and husband, Walter, Evangeline Moya and husband, Elfego, Debra Candelaria and companion, Martin Aragon, and Greg Wortman and wife, Frances; sister, Beatrice Sais; brothers, Rafael Aragon Jr., Fidel Aragon and wife, Sylvia, Pat Aragon and wife, JoAnn; sister-in-law, Aurelia Aragon; brother-in-law, Tony Sanchez; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and two on the way; stepchildren, Marcos Arias and wife, Bari, Isabel Carlisle, Carlos Arias and wife, Barbara, Robert Arias and wife, Cia, Ted Arias, Vincent Arias and wife, Bonnie, and Francis Arias; special friends, Nicole and Mica Jenrette, Aleijah and Ashley Armijo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Wortman was preceded in death by her husband, Henry D. Wortman; parents, Rafael and Dolores Aragon; grandmother, Modesta Madrid; brother, Joe Aragon; sister, Olie Sanchez; grandson, Christopher Munoz; son-in-law, Tony Candelaria; brother-in-law, Arthur Sais; and sister-in-law, Pauline Aragon.
A visitation and vigil services were held Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2 at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas. A final visitation will be held at the church from 9 to 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Brian Baca, Jason Baca, Greg Clark, David Griego, Carl Candelaria and Greg Adam Wortman.
