Los Lunas man indicted for Meadow Lake robbery
A 28-year-old Los Lunas man was indicted on robbery and aggravated burglary charges following an incident where police said he took a gold necklace from a woman in Meadow Lake.
Christopher Andrade was indicted on one count of robbery, one count of aggravated burglary, one count of false imprisonment and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.
According to a police report, Andrade assaulted an elderly woman at her home on Cereza Circle after he told her that he was being assaulted and needed to use her phone. The report said he pushed the woman down and grabbed her gold Virgin of Guadalupe medallion and chain on July 7. Andrade drove off from the scene.
The report said Andrade was an acquittance of the woman's son.
The woman was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Valencia County Sheriff's deputies arrested Andrade on July 19.
He is being held at the Valencia County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash or surety bond and a separate $273 cash-only bond. That bond came from a bench warrant stemming from a larceny charge.
