Mendezes celebrate anniversary
Ishmael and Dora Mendz of Los Lunas celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married on Sept. 16, 1945, at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Denver, Colo. They are members of San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas.
Ishmael retired 33 years ago from Safeway Retail in Hollywood, Calif. He is a high school graduate.
He is also a veteran of World War II and Korea.
He enjoys fishing, gardening, and going to the casino. He volunteers during tax season for senior citizens and is a eucharistic minister at San Clemente Catholic Church.
Dora is retired and waitressed at El Coyote restaurant in Hollywood, Calif., where she met a lot of famous actors and actresses. She enjoys canning.
Their children are Gary Mendez, of Los Lunas, and Dale Mendez, Temeucula, Calif.
They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Their grandchildren are Bobby Mendez, Nicole Mendez, Lina Mendez, Gabe and Dan Mendez.
The Mendezes went out to dinner to celebrate their anniversary and are planning a trip to Dallas, Texas, to visit family.
