VALENCIA COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS games and ball, to include paid, volunteer, municipality and county firefighters, will be held at Daniel Fernandez Park in Los Lunas. The games, such as ladder race, bucket brigade, hose relay,  barrel race and tug of war, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. After a short rest, the celebration will continue at the Elks Lodge at 7 p.m. where announcement and presentation of awards for the winners of the fire games, Firefighter of the Year, and Department of the Year. THE RIO GRANDE ESTATES FIRE DEPARTMENT is hosting a “50 cent taco night” from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 108 Rio Communities Blvd. Two beef or chicken tacos, served with rice, beans and a beverage is $5 per person. Additional tacos are 50 cents each. All proceeds benefit volunteer fire and rescue personnel.
