Sanchezes celebrate golden wedding anniversary
Norbert and Linda Sanchez, of Albuquerque, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 29.
The couple was married in 1962 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
Norbert retired from the Department of Transportation, NMSHD, Albuquerque Gravel Products, Los Alamos National Labs and is retired deacon from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.
He went to school at the University of New Mexico and NICET, in Washington, D.C., where he received a degree in project management. He served as a deacon for 26 years at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He enjoys to garden.
Linda, a homemaker, is retired from Belen Consolidated Schools. She graduated from Highland High School, and was the youth choir director at Our Lady of Belen for five years. She enjoys cooking, baking, sewing and writing short stories.
The couple belongs to Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Community in Albuquerque.
Their children are Robert and Camillia Sanchez of Albuquerque, Michael Sanchez of Tulsa, Okla., Leeanne and Ralph Becker of Belen, Christine and Nick Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Catherine and Cliff Baca of Albuquerque, and David and Amber Sanchez of Valencia.
They have 10 grandchildren, including nine grandsons and one granddaughter.
The Sanchezes will celebrate their anniversary with a Mass at 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Community. A family reception will follow at the parish hall.
