Eagle boys lose to Miyamura, 5-1
After their first District 6-4A win of the season over Gallup last Tuesday, the Belen boys couldn't hold the momentum as they lost in a visit to Miyamura 5-1 on Saturday.
Belen, 2-11 and 1-2 in district after Saturday's loss, visited Valencia on Tuesday in a match that kicked off after the News-Bulletin went to press.
The Eagles will host Grants at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will visit Los Lunas on Tuesday in a contest that is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
Against Miyamura, Belen got its only goal from Jesse Monge in the first half. Miyamura countered with four goals in the opening half and a single tally in the second.
Xavier Chavez and John Kolb scored twice in the Miyamura victory and Kelly Radosevich scored once.
BHS coach Danny Krow could not be reached for comment prior to the News-Bulletin deadline.
