Porfirio “Porfy” Arellano
Porfirio “Porfy” Arellano, age 65, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away Monday, Oct. 1.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his mother, Carolina Barber; brothers, Jim Arellano and Sam Arellano; sister, Lucy Arellano; two sons, Adam and Orlando Arellano; nephews, Steve and Isaac Arellano; and niece, Linda Arellano Salcido.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Rojas, David Horcasitas, Roger Blanco, Dennis Sisneros, Sam Arellano, Adam Arellano, Orlando Arellano, and Albino Provencio.

Ruth Bernice Beck
Ruth Bernice Beck, age 94, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Friday, Oct. 5.

Keela Lynn Denery
Keela Lynn Denery, age 54, a resident of Belen since 1973, came to New Mexico from Fort Wayne, Ind., and went home to her Lord quietly, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, Oct. 4.
Keela was born May 22, 1958, and graduated from Belen High School. Keela married Stephen Denery on June 4, 1983. She was a member of the Rio Grande Church of Christ of Belen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Dolores Hockman of Fort Wayne, Ind.; father- and mother-in-law, John and Joan Denery Sr., of Rio Rancho; and her sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew.
Keela is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Stephen Denery; their three children, Amber, Ryan and Brandon Denery of Belen; brothers, Lenny Hockman and wife, Shannon, of Alamogordo, Patrick Hockman of Las Cruces, Shawn Hockman and wife, Brenda, of Belen, Danny Hockman and Peggy of Belen; sister, Roxanne Misner and her husband, Steve, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, John Denery of Albuquerque, Genevieve Denery of Albuquerque, Deborah Denery of Rio Rancho and Lawrence Denery of Albuquerque; nieces, Lynette Titus, Mindy Burns, Melanie Miser, Julie Miser, Samantha Hockman, Michelle Hockman, Shawna Hockman, JoAnn Denery, April Ebert, Kristi Denery-Page and Cheryl Lee Madera;  nephews, Nick Hockman, Darrin Miser, Dana Miser, Joey Miser, Trent Miser, Christopher Hockman and Derek Hockman; and more than 25 great-nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, with a funeral service to be held at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery.

Thomas Leyba
Thomas Leyba, age 87, a resident of Belen, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1.
He was raised in Clayton, N.M., then moved to California after serving in the Navy, where he met the love of his life. He retired from Martin Meritta Corporation and moved back to New Mexico in 1986 to be closer to his family.
He joins in death his wife, Lugarda; his parents, Sarah and Gregorio Leyba; his siblings, Esther Svalina, Vivian Leyba, Susan Martinez, Leonard Leyba, Adel Tupper and Selma Harris.
Thomas leaves behind his children, Freddie Martinez and wife, Theresa, and Hilda Hidalgo and husband, Joe; siblings, Samuel Leyba, David Leyba, Irene Shirley and Ernestine Stauffer; seven grandchildren, Roberta Valencia, JoAnna Gonzales, Jerald Hidalgo, Charlene Trujillo, Kenny Martinez, Tommy Martinez and Jessica Chavez; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Saturday, Oct. 6, beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Martinez, Jerald Hidalgo, Tommy Martinez and Robert Valencia.
