Lunas celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
Lewis and Marcella Luna of Belen are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. The couple was married on Oct. 27, 1962.
Lewis retired from Yellow Freight System and is a graduate of Carlsbad High School. He stays busy around the house, visiting their grandchildren in Farmington and son in Hawaii.
Marcella retired as an executive administrative assistant to the director at the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus. She took classes at UNM-VC, and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and loves bingo.
The couple meet with the Cursillo Group every other Tuesday, and belong to Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
Their children are Lewis Donald Luna, Barbara and her husband, Rick Tedrow, and Daniel Luna.
Their grandchildren are Marcella and Louie, Mack, Madison and Jacob.
The couple traveled to Hawaii last year and stayed with their son for two weeks. They had a wonderful time.
They also travel to Las Vegas at least twice a year with friends, Fannie and Tony Sanchez.
