LOS LUNAS FAMILY SCHOOL is currently accepting students for the 2012-13 school year. Los Lunas Middle School is home to seventh- and eighth-grade students and Katherine Gallegos Elementary is home to first- sixth-grade students. Students participate for 2 1/2 days in public school instruction in language arts and math while the other  2 1/2 days students are home schooled in science and social studies. THE BELEN PUBLIC LIBRARY is accepting book donations from the public. Children’s books are always needed. Books may be dropped off at the library, or you can arrange for a pickup by calling the library at 966-2600.
BELEN ELKS LODGE No. 2499, 19513 N.M. 314 in Belen, holds bingo every Tuesday night, and is open to the public. Early Bird bingo starts at 6:45 p.m. with regular bingo starting at 7 p.m. Jackpot is progressive and pays up to $500. Proceeds will be applied to Elks charities.
LA MERCED MOOSE LODGE 2550, in Rio Communities, holds bingo at 1:30 p.m. every Saturday, and at 4:30 p.m. every Sunday. All proceeds go to Moose charities. It is open to the public.
