Benjamin Aragon, age 54, a resident of Los Lunas, was embraced by the Lord and taken to eternal life, Wednesday, Nov. 14.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Marie Aragon; father, Benildo Aragon; brother, Larry; sister, Bernadette; and son, Nash Martinez.
Benjamin is survived by his brothers and sisters, Richard Aragon, Tonnie Sanchez, Peggy Martinez, Alvin Aragon and Dyan Baca; numerous nieces and nephews, and grandchildren, Laius and Evangelina Martinez. Benjamin will be greatly missed by all.
Services were held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, Tuesday, Nov. 20, with interment following at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.

David “Wedo” Chavez
David “Wedo” Chavez, age 59, a resident of Los Lunas, went to be with our Lord Jesus on Thursday, Nov. 15.
He was a member of San Clemente Catholic Church.
David had a big heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed help. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Trini Blea Chavez; and siblings, Anthony, Debbie Ann, and Mary Carmen Chavez.
David is survived by his loving brother, Lito Chavez and wife, Patsy; nephew, Luis Chavez and wife, Andrea; great-nephew, Luisto Chavez; and special cousin, Chris M. Blea. He is also survived by many other cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
All services will be held at San Clemente Catholic Church on Monday, Nov. 26, beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Los Lentes Catholic Cemetery.

Stella V. Cordova
Stella V. Cordova, age 75, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Stella enjoyed attending family activities and getting together with the people that she loved.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Erlindo Cordova; and sons, David, Benjie and Freddie Cordova.
Stella is survived by her loving sons, Danny Cordova, and Patrick Cordova and wife, Janice; siblings, Sal Carrasco and wife, Lucy, Linda Saavedra and husband, Joe, and Rosemary Blanco and husband, Vincent; and nine loving grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Ambercare Hospice and her loving and caring nurse, Stephanie.
All services will be held at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday, Nov. 27, beginning with a viewing at 10:30 a.m. and Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery.

Bryan “Scott” Detrick
Bryan “Scott” Detrick, 40, of Los Lunas, was returned to the Lord on Friday, Nov. 16, after battling brain cancer.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1972, in Carlsbad. He grew up and was educated in Carlsbad until he moved to Albuquerque in 1987, and then to Los Lunas in 1988.
Bryan’s tremendous faith and love for the Lord was an inspiration to everyone who was blessed to have met him. He worked for the Los Lunas Community Program for 14 years.
He loved to be outdoors, playing softball, fishing, golfing and camping.
He was a major fan of the Carolina Panthers. His gigantic heart, bright smile and famous bear hugs will forever be missed. He was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Dick and Harriet Turner and Robert and Ruth Detrick; uncle, John Detrick; aunt, Ruth Ann Detrick-Mitchell; uncle, Rick Turner; father-in-law, Gary Johnson; and beloved dog, Sampson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Shelly Detrick, of Los Lunas; son, Jonathan Darrough, of Los Lunas; daughter, Ashley Johnson and husband, Anthony, of Albuquerque; son, Nathan Darrough, of Los Lunas; daughter, Kierston Allen-Detrick, of Carlsbad; parents, Richard and Sandy Detrick, of Carlsbad; brother, Gary Detrick, of Carlsbad; brother, Robert Detrick and wife, Donna, of Carlsbad; sister, Deana Pearce and husband, Jim, of Carlsbad; sister, Beth Moomey and husband, Lyle, of Bosque Farms; mother-in-law, Darlene Johnson, of Belen; granddaughters, Samantha and Jaymie Boling and their mother, Daisy Patrick, of Los Lunas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and close friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen.
Urn bearers will be nephews, Nicholas Pearce, Billy Baker, Andy Baker and Eric Baker.

Georgia Belle Jones
Georgia Belle Jones, age 81, passed away Nov. 17.
She was born in Barton, N.M., on Dec. 6, 1930, to Robert C. and Addie Marie (Mallott) Newberry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas C. Jones; and her son, Charles Duane Jones.
Georgia is survived by her son, Ron Jones and wife, Linda; daughter, Diana Clark; and daughter, Darlene Otero and husband, Luke; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and sister, Alma Lee Harris.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Strong-Thorne Chapel. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Belen, 401 Becker Ave. in Belen, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park.

Jimmy Metcalf, a resident of Belen, passed away Monday, Nov. 19.

Tony Sanchez Jr.
Tony Sanchez Jr., age 85, a resident of Belen, a good and faithful servant, joined our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 17.
He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Tony proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and in the New Mexico National Guard, where he touched the lives of many men.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Olympia “Olie” Sanchez; parents, Antonio Sr. and Frances T. Sanchez; sister, Speedy Lopez; sister-in-law, Lucy Wortman; and brother-in-law, Joe V. Aragon.
Tony is survived by his loving daughter, Geraldine Casaus and husband, Greg; son, Dennis Sanchez; four grandsons, Andy Sanchez and wife, Audra, Anthony, Marc and Dale Sanchez; four great-grandchildren, Amaya, Analisa, Audriana and Lucas, who were the light of his life; sister, Carmel Sanchez; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Sais and Aurelia Aragon; and brothers-in-law, Rafael Aragon, Fidel Aragon and wife, Sylvia, Pat Aragon and wife, Joann; and special friends Jorge, Adriana, Jorge, Ariel and Brian. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
All services are being held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, which began with a viewing and Rosary on Tuesday, Nov. 20. A final visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at noon. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26.
Pallbearers will be Gene Sais, Dr. Joe Ray Aragon, Anthony Torres, Leroy, Jeff and Ronald Aragon.
