Cordovas celebrate 50th anniversary

Johnny and Dolores Cordova, of Belen, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 22. The couple was married in 1962 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.

Both are retired and live in Rio Communities. They owned Cordova’s Meat Processing for more than 20 years.

Their children are Gilbert and his wife, Liz Cordova, of Belen, Robert and his wife, Vianey Cordova, of Bremerton, Wash., Philip Cordova of Belen, Steven and his wife Chrissy Cordova, of Belen, Leonard and his wife, Cresta Cordova, of Bremerton, Wash., and Renee and her husband, Carlos Sanchez, of Belen.

They have 15 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, with two on the way.

The Cordovas celebrated their anniversary with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On Dec. 23, they were given a 50th anniversary blessing at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, and then continued the celebration with their family for lunch at Furr’s Cafeteria, where everyone enjoyed the variety of food and company.
