Juan “Johnny” A. Aragon
1934-2013
Juan “Johnny” A. Aragon, age 78, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomasita and Meliton Aragon; son, Norbert Aragon; brother, Robert Aragon; and son in-law, Charles “Chuck” Koenig.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lena Aragon; sister, Louisa and Cristbol Piro; son, Eligio Aragon; daughter, Polly Tarin and Vince Torres; daughter, Lourdes Aragon and Larry Jaramillo; son, Antonio and Betty Aragon; daughter, Angela Koenig; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one on the way. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta on Monday, Jan. 7, beginning with a visitation at 10 a.m., a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Valencia Catholic Cemetery.
The pallbearer will be his grandson Christopher Aragon.

Genteele “Aunt Genny” Baldini
1920-2013
Genteele “Aunt Genny” Baldini, age 92, a resident of Rio Communities for more than 20 years, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1.
She was a member of La Merced WOTM Chapter 2210 since February 2008.  She loved bowling and played on leagues for many years. She retired as a secretary/bookkeeper from Trailways Bus Co.
She had a great love for all her family. She was always kind and spoke only good things for and toward everyone. Aunt Genny was an angel here on earth and is now a true angel with our Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alle and Myrtle Abram; four brothers, Arland Abram, Dalbert Abram, Howard Abram and Nephi Abram; and three sisters, Sarah Gaede, Bernice Turner and Norella Abram.
She was survived by one son, Eugene Baldini of Albuquerque; brothers, Joseph Abram of Island Park, Ind., and Alfred Abram of Sandy, Utah; and sister, Patricia Bushnell of Tucson, Ariz.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
All services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Judith L. Benavides, age 69, a resident of Bosque Farms, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31.

Frank L. Chavez
1936-2013
Frank L. Chavez, age 76, a resident of Bariales, N.M., passed away peacefully at his home with family on Thursday, Jan. 3.
Frank was an equipment operator for Socorro County and enjoyed the outdoors, and having matanzas with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose C. Armijo and Ramona Chavez; brothers, Emilio Chavez and wife, Rita; Juan Chavez and Gregorio Chavez; sister, Victoria Barela and husband, Mariano; brother-in-law, Roger Jacks; sister-in-law, Priscilla Chavez; niece, Cindy Habernal; and nephew, Kenny Chavez.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Theresa Armijo; son-in-law, Mario Armijo; and granddaughter, Emily Armijo. He is also survived by his brothers, Nestor Chavez and Gene Chavez; sister-in-law, Virginia Chavez; sisters, Ramona Jacks and Martina Brown; brother-in-law, Charles Brown; and many loving nieces and nephews.
All services will be held at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Abeytas on Monday, Jan. 7, beginning with a visitation at 12 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 12:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the San Antonio Catholic Cemetery.

Mary Helen Cordova
1942-2013
Mary Helen Cordova, age 70, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Mary Helen enjoyed life and loved to spend her time in the company of her husband and family.
She was well known for her love of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and going to the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tiburcio and Rosina (Luz) Chavez; her father and mother-in-law, Reducindo and Alicia Cordova; brothers, Arthur and Tibo Jr.; granddaughter, Dailyn Aragon; son-in-law, David Montoya; and brother-in-law, Dan Apodaca.
Mary Helen is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Rudy Cordova; children, son, Bobby and wife, Maria Alicia Cordova, daughters, Carmen and husband, Anthony Baca, Jackie and husband, Louie Aragon, and Dina and husband, Leroy Ortega; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters, Corine, Gregor and Nelda; and brothers, Precy, Simon and Frank.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 5, beginning with a visitation at 11:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 12:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearer will be Micah Cordova.

Vivian G. Cordova
1942-2013
Vivian G. Cordova, age 70, went home Wednesday morning, Jan. 2.
He was a devout Catholic, a proud American and a lifelong Republican.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Vivianita; and brothers, Nick and Michael. Vivian is survived by his daughters, Deneen Rutledge and Dawn Armijo; and sons-in-law, Bart Rutledge and Mike Armijo. He was the proud grandfather of Kelsey, Rachel and Julia. He is also survived by nine siblings, Angie, Frank, Raoul, Ruth, Edna, Art, David, Jose and Virginia; and lifelong friend, Joe Maestas. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews and numerous loyal friends.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Monday, Jan. 7, beginning with a viewing at 9 a.m., a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mike Armijo, Bart Rutledge, Phillip, Jerome and Art Cordova, Joe Maestas, Stuart Prager and Michael Moya.

Charles “Chuck” M. Koenig
1949-2012
Charles “Chuck” M. Koenig, age 63, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Friday, Dec. 28.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971.
He was a avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Chuck was always a very hard worker and a devoted husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ella Koenig. Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Angela; son, Mark and wife, Pim, of Florida; daughter, Lauren and husband, Jeff Gerth, of Missouri; sons, Michael and Matthew Koenig; sister, Donna and husband, Don Waletzko; brother, Frank and wife, Donna Koenig; brother, Jim and wife, Jeanna Koenig, all of Minnesota; father-in-law, Johnny and Lena Aragon; brother and sister-in-law, Antonio and Betty Aragon; special nieces, Melissa Adkins and husband, Zach, Victoria Zamora and husband, Marcos, and Michelle Aragon; and special nephew, Antonio “Thon” Aragon III. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 4, beginning with a visitation at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Valencia Catholic Cemetery.

Jean G. A. Moore
Died 2012
Jean G. A. Moore, age 86, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed on Thursday, Dec. 27.
She is survived by her son, Gordon, and wife, Cara Moore, of Rio Rancho; daughters, Carol and husband, Victor V. Duran, of Chula Vista, Calif., and Miriam Moore of Los Lunas; brothers, Will and wife, Betty Gordon, and Bob and wife, Bea Gordon; sister, Margaret Chapin; grandsons, Sean Moore, Kenneth and wife, Yasna Provine, Daniel and wife, Casey Provine; and three great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Moore; father, William F. Gordon; mother, Cornelia Gordon and brother, Frank Gordon. Jean was the “Hostess with the Mostest,” always assuring that those around her were well fed and had something to drink close by.
She enjoyed crochet, knitting, handiwork and was quite self-reliant — always with a glue bottle and hammer in hand. She loved to entertain her bridge groups and was considered the mistress of hors d’oeuvres and weird Jello things.
Jean and John lived across the USA as his career as an engineer took them to New Mexico, Indiana, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, Louisiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and back again to retire in New Mexico. Jean was an active member of Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church.

Anne Tondre Williams
1926-2013
Anne Tondre Williams, age 86, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, at her home in Los Lunas, the community of her birth on Feb. 23, 1926.
Anne was an English teacher in Belen and Los Lunas and served on the UNM-Valencia Campus Advisory Board.
She was admired and will be remembered by many for her contribution to education and her avid interest in and life-long service to her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph F. Tondre, born in Isleta and Ruth Powers Tondre, born in Las Vegas, N.M.
Anne is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, James Williams; sons, Tony and wife, Stephanie, Chris and Pete; daughter, Meta Rosen and husband, Bob; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Joseph Tondre, Patricia Peterson, Ruth Broussard and Katy Lang.
