A Belen family is concerned over their 14-year-old son who went missing earlier this week.

On Tuesday, the boy, Sean Murillo, ran away from home and his family is asking for the public's help in finding the Belen Middle School student.

Murillo's mother, Shonda Pachta, said her son has "serious issues" and has run away "numerous times" before the latest incident.

The boy is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 97 pounds. He has brownish black hair and hazel eyes.

"It's to the point where I don't know what else to do," Pachta said.

Pachta said she believes her son is at a friend's house and refuses to come home. He was recently enrolled in anger management classes and has a drug problem with marijuana.

Belen Police Chief Dan Robb said police are following up on leads and are actively looking for the boy.

She said she plans to make fliers for residents to possibly identify the whereabouts of her son. She said she wants to put her son into some kind of rehabilitation program.

"I want him home so I can get him the help that he needs."

If you have any information on this case, please call the Belen Police Department at 864-6288.
