Arizona tourney proves tough for Lady Tigers
The competition got a lot tougher for the Los Lunas softball team on Thursday in the Tournament of Champions held at Bullhead, Ariz.
The tournament matches some of the best teams from the western states in a three-day bracket.
Saguas, Calif., beat Los Lunas, 7-1, to send the Tigers to the consolation bracket. They were set to face a team from Tucson, Ariz., on Friday in a game that began after the News-Bulletin press time.
The trip came after Los Lunas had dismantled Atrisco Heritage on Tuesday, 18-3, in a four inning mercy-rule game.
