Larry D. Martinez
Larry D. Martinez, age 30, a resident of Belen, passed away on Friday, March 8.
He graduated from Belen High School in 2000 and worked for the state of New Mexico Corrections Department for 10 years.
Larry loved spending time with his daughter and all his nieces and nephews. He also loved fast cars, snowboarding and camping. Larry was a devoted family man.
With his outgoing personality, everyone knew who it was when he walked into a room. His laugh and smile were as bright as the sun. He was truly the light in a dark room. He will be very much missed. Gone, but never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Herman Baca; uncle, Peter Baca; grandpa, Manuel Martinez; grandma, Mary Martinez; and nephew, Leonard Miguel Martinez III.
Larry is survived by his loving daughter, Makayla Rose Martinez; mother and step-father, Maryann and Albert Romero; father, Leonard Martinez Sr.; brothers, Leonard Martinez Jr. and Patrick Martinez; three nieces and four nephews.
All services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, beginning with a viewing from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 15, with a prayer service to be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. A final visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, March 16, with a celebration of life at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
