Michael William Botts
Michael William Botts, age 65, a resident of Belen, started his journey home on Sunday, April 21.
Michael served his country as a decorated Navy Seal for eight years during the most difficult time in the Vietnam War.
Michael you will be deeply missed for your kindness, thoughtfulness and good natured ways. You had a heart of gold. May your faith guide you on your journey and may you know how much you will be missed but remembered in our hearts.
Michael is survived by his loving soul mate wife, Sabrina “Brina,” who has been by his side as his wife, business partner and best friend for 33 years. He is also survived by his talented son, Michael Jr. and Christopher; his loving sisters, Susie and husband, Robert, Devora, and Linda and husband, Gary; brother, Jerry; his wondrous mother-in-law, Perry Chavez, and his many beloved relatives and friends.
All services were held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 27. Interment will held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.

James E. Elrod
James E. Elrod, age 76, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Thursday, April 25.

Richard S. Giron
Richard S. Giron, age 67, a resident of Peralta, passed away May 1.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Alfides Giron; and his son, Martin L. Giron, all of Las Cruces.
Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia Giron, of 43 years; sons, Pat Giron and wife, Pam, of Peralta, and Sam Giron of Colorado; grandsons, Caleb and Matthew Giron, of Las Cruces; son, Ethan Atencio, of Los Lunas; brothers, Joe Giron, of Quemado, and Alfred Giron of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Cecilia Higuer, of Las Cruces, and Lillie Marin and husband, Lorenzo, of Las Cruces; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Maestas, age 75, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, April 23. She was a loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose S. and Adelia Romero Armijo; and grandparents, Jesus Romero and Trinidad Romero.
Dorothy is survived by her loving companion, Gilbert Rael; one daughter, Bernadette Maestas; three sons, Frank L. Maestas and wife, Kim Cheshine, Ernest Maestas and wife, Mary Morgan, and Mathew Maestas; father of her children, Frank R. Maestas; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
All services were held at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Sabinal on April 26. Interment followed at the Sabinal Catholic Cemetery.

Jose Roybal, age 72, a resident of Los Lunas, , passed away April 30.

Joseph “Frank” Trujillo
Joseph “Frank” Trujillo, age 76, a resident of Belen, passed away April 29.
He was a member of Tierra Del Sol Golf Course. His greatest joy was looking forward to his weekly golf game with friends.
He was preceded in death by his partner, Joyce Fleming; parents, Della and Henry; brothers, Daniel and Henry Jr.; sisters, Margaret Agripino and Annabelle Cruz.
Frank is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Linda) Trujillo, Anthony, Richard and Michael; sister, Corinne (Bud) Yeargan; and many nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will begin at 10:45 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 4 at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. Interment will be private.

Willie L. Washington
Willie L. Washington, of Belen, was born in Montgomery, Ala.,, on Jan. 14, 1956, and died at 5:10 p.m., on April 24.
He spent most of his childhood life in Montgomery. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1975 in Montgomery.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United State Air Force. He served six years and was discharged with honors from the Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque.
Willie worked with various companies in Albuquerque before he moved with his family to Belen. He worked as a security guard in the Belen area, and with Belen Consolidated Schools for a few years.
He was a wonderful, caring and loving husband and father to his wife and children. He was a Dallas Cowboy and Los Angelas Lakers fan. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, tennis and golf. Willie was a sports fanatic.
He will truly be missed by his family.
