Chavezes mark golden wedding anniversary
Willie and Lori Chavez, of Peralta, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 11. The couple was married in 1963 at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception in Tomé.
Willie is an electrician for the state of new Mexico, and has a degree from TVI. He U.S. Army veteran and enjoys spending time with his grandsons, Isaac and Isaiah, hunting, fishing and camping.
Lori works at Los Lunas Schools and has a home day care. She went to school at UNM, and enjoys reading, traveling, cooking and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She also enjoys shopping with her daughter, Rosalie.
The couple are member of San Augustine Catholic Church in Isleta.
Their children are Rosalie Padilla and her husband, John, of Peralta. They have two grandchildren.
Willie and Lori have done much traveling within the United States. They plan on traveling this summer to Rome and Hawaii, and of course, to Disneyland with the grandsons.
An anniversary celebration took place at their daughter, Rosalie and son-in-law, John’s home. A dinner was served with the immediate family and close friends.
