Loibls celebrate 40 years of marriage together
Michael and Elsie Loibl, of Los Lunas, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on May 19. It was on that date in 1973 they were married in Española.
Michael graduated from high school in 1970 in Dubuque, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970-74 and is a Vietnam veteran. He is retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory after 26 years, and has been employed for six years by the Los Lunas Schools as a crossing guard.
Elsie graduated from McCurdy High School in Española in 1971. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1972-74, and is a Vietnam veteran. She retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 23 years of service.
They are the proud parents of Christopher Loibl and wife, Rubina, of Pojoaque, and Jonathan Loible, of San Antonio, Texas. They have two granddaughters, Elena and Andrea Loibl, of Pojoaque; and two grand-dogs, Diamond and Peppers, of San Antonio, Texas.
To celebrate, the Loibls recently enjoyed a trip to San Antonio, Texas, and will plan a more extensive celebration at a later date.
