Gertrude “Gay” Agatha Boyett
1917-2013
Gertrude “Gay” Agatha Boyett, age 96, a resident of Peralta, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27.
She was born April 2, 1917, in Talladega, Ala., the same day World War I started. Her family moved to Hollis, Okla., and then to Orlando, Fla., and then back to Oklahoma, while she was a child.
She married Paul Boyett in Hollis, Okla., on Feb. 2, 1938. On their honeymoon, they moved to Fence Lake, N.M., where they lived until they moved to Peralta in 1955.
Gay was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Boyett.
She is survived by a brother, Wesley Brooks, of Kansas City, Kan.; son, Ron Boyett and wife, Becky Boyett, of Peralta; son, John Boyett, of Albuquerque; daughter, Joan Kramer and husband, Barry Kramer, of Brigham City, Utah; grandchildren, Heather Kramer, Joel Kramer, Laura Boyett Stansell, Walter Boyett, Wes Boyett, Ruth Boyett Stearley, Jacob Sanchez and Melissa Sanchez Ackerman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church, in Peralta, beginning at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 3, with interment to follow at Fence Lake Community Cemetery in Fence Lake, N.M.

Mark Parker
Died 2013
Mark Parker, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away at his home on Friday, Sept. 27. He was 56.
Mark had lived in and around the Albuquerque area for 40 years. He was a lead guitar player and was known for his mane of beautiful red hair. He loved extra hot green chile, reading, the outdoors, hanging with friends and his cat, Gato.
Mark is survived by his mother, Gail Parker; his stepfather, Robert Lopez; sister, Andrea McEneny her husband, Richard McEneny; all of Peralta.
Graveside services will be held at a later date, at Hooks Cemetery, the family’s cemetery in East Texas.
