ARTISTS AND CRAFTERS are wanted to participate in the Bounty of Arts and Crafts Show and Bazaar at the First Presbyterian Church in Belen. Arts and crafts will be accepted for show or sale between 9 a.m. and noon, Thursday, Oct. 24, at the church 85 Manzano Expressway.  Art show opens at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, with a free family movie following at 6 p.m. The show will again open at noon on Saturday, Oct. 26, and at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 27.

TOMÉ ART GALLERY will hold its sixth celebration of the Diá de los Muertos through Nov. 3. On Sunday, Oct. 27, there will be a meet-the-artists reception from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the gallery. A FUN FALL FEST, hosted by the city of Belen, will be held in the Heart of Belen. The event includes a health fair from 9 a.m. to noon, a 5K run/walk at 10 a.m. on Church and Main streets, free T-shirts for the first 50 participants, music and street dancing from 1 to 8 p.m., games and activities for kids of all ages, pumpkin decoration and carving, free flu shots, and a costume and pet costume contest.
A COMMUNITY WELLNESS FAIR will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Aristech Acrylics, LLC, 1945 N.M. 304, south of Rio Communities.
PROJECT HEART START, sponsored by Valencia County Emergency Services, the city of Belen and Belen Consolidated Schools, will be held at the Belen High School gym, 1619 W. Delgado. Choose from one of four 45-minute sessions at 10 and 11 a.m., and 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. This is a noncertification class, but participants will be trained on a “hands-only”version of CPR for the public. THE LOS LUNAS Police Department will be participating in the DEA’s National Take Back Initiative” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be two drop-off locations in Los Lunas for all prescription drugs, one in the lobby of the Los Lunas Administration Office, 660 Main St. and at Walgreens in the Valencia Y shopping center, 2500 Main St. SE. Officers will be on hand to assist the public. Items that will not be accepted are sharps, inhalers and liquids.
THE VALENCIA COUNTY Juvenile Justice Board will be holding its second annual Autumn Safety Awareness Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the District Courthouse on N.M. 314 and Morris Road in Los Lunas. Admission is free to the public. There will be a Halloween costume contest for kids with prizes, Los Lunas Police Department K-9 Unit, law enforcement agencies, fire truck and other emergency vehicles, free and low-cost flu shots from Walgreens and Presbyterian, free snow cones from the Sugar Shack, food vendors, treatment providers, mentoring sign-ups from Big Brothers, Big Sisters, animal adoptions, Valencia County Juvenile Justice Board information, UNM-VC, N.M. Game and Fish and other local agencies, free giveaways and prizes.
THE ANNUAL SENIOR Halloween party at the Belen Senior Center will be held from 10 a.m to noon, with lunch served at noon. There will be a prize for the best costume. Door prizes will be given. Music by Los Alegres de Belen.
A HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. at Daniel Fernandez Recreation Center. The fun and free event is for all ages, and there will be a haunted house.
A HALLOWEEN/POTLUCK Birthday party will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bosque Farms Community center. The Fiddler’s and Musicians of New Mexico will provide the entertainment, beginning at 11 a.m. Bring a dish to share for lunch, which will start at noon. All are encouraged to come in costume. FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH of Belen is sponsoring Halloween Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the church, Manzano Expressway in Rio Communities. Church members will be giving Halloween treats out of their trunks. Children of all ages are welcome to come and have fun.
SECOND CUP OF COFFEE CLUB meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday at the Green House Bistro and Bakery for free coffee and a chat about aging issues.

THE FOURTH ANNUAL Belen Alexander Airport fly-in and open house will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will include a pancake breakfast, food vendors, antique and experimental plans, classic cars, medical  helicopters, Skydive New Mexico demonstrations, Young Eagles EEA Chapter free rides for children 8 to 17 years old. The airport is located two miles west of Interstate 25 on Camino del Llano in Belen.
