THE ANNUAL DITCH Bank Bandits Fishing Derby at the River Park in Los Lunas will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23. The event is free, and there will be games and prizes for the kids as well as for the winners in the men’s, women’s and children’s categories. There will also be free food and drink. The derby is sponsored by the Ditch Bank Bandits, Los Lunas Open Space, N.M. Game and Fish and the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District.
GRACE FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 3384 N.M. 47 in Los Lunas, will be giving out Thanksgiving food boxes that include a ham beginning at 9 a.m. until boxes run out. This is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

A THANKSGIVING DINNER will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Rio Communities. Organizers of the weekly soup kitchen will driving around to pick up those who need rides to the church to enjoy a meal with family, brothers and sisters in Christ. There will be no soup kitchen on Friday, Nov. 29.

LOS LUNAS HIGH SCHOOL Cheer Boosters is holding a posole dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Los Lunas Middle School cafeteria. The price is $7 per plate, which includes a bowl of posole, your choice of chile, dessert and a drink. All proceeds will go to the LLHS Cheer Boosters.
SATURDAY, NOV. 30
A TOYS FOR TOTS Motorcycle Run, sponsored by the American Legion Post 81, American Legion Riders Chapter 25 and the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office, will begin with registration at 11 a.m. at The Home Depot in Los Lunas. The ride will go to Isleta, Bosque Farms, Los Lunas and Belen, ending at the Sheriff’s Posse Cafe, where there will be live music, door prizes and more. Bring a new toy for a child.
