Zeller to run with Wolf Pack
Los Lunas senior Teige Zeller officially signed her national letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Nevada, Reno next season while friends and family looked on Tuesday at Los Lunas High School.
The 6-foot-2 post was recruited by the likes of the University of New Mexico, Texas Tech, and Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, to name a few, but decided on the Wolf Pack after a whirlwind courtship by Wolfpack coach Jane Albright.
The hall-of-fame coach visited Zeller at her home based solely on the recommendation of another college coach on a Thursday in late September, said Zeller.
“I visited the campus the next Tuesday and by the next Saturday I had decided to sign with them,” said Zeller on Tuesday. “To have her come and offer me off someone’s word… it’s just incredible to me how God had me in his hands the entire time.”
Zeller helped lead the Tigers to their first state title last season.
