Clifford Clarence Culbreth
1918-2014
Clifford Clarence Culbreth, age 96, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Thursday, March 13.
He was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Los Lunas.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gayle Marie Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Sophie Estelle Culbreth; daughters, Stephanie Culbreth, Monica McCarty and husband, Steve McCarty, and Lydia Culbreth; grandchildren, Kamar, Tamoya, Nickii, Neesha, Carl, Natasha, Mark, Jacob, Jordan and Chaz; 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sisters, Virginia Jackson and Etta Mae Ingram; and many nieces and nephews.

Melody Farias
1948-2014
Melody Farias, age 65, a resident of Veguita, passed away on Monday, March 17.
Melody was a devoted mother, grandmother and “G.G.,” who loved reading and sharing the Bible with her loved ones. A good book and a hot cup of coffee after her housework were the simple kind of pleasures she enjoyed.
She made each of her children and grandchildren feel special and was known to display their cards, drawings and pictures all over her home with pride. Throughout the many states she lived in, Melody’s spaghetti dinners and the friendships they brought will be missed.
Melody is survived by her loving son, Michael Hanover, of Veguita; her daughters, Elizabeth Weese of Clyde, Texas, and Hillary Nichols, of Veguita; and longtime companion, Garth Fraley; her Scorpio friend, Tonya Marr.
Melody doted on her 15 grandchildren and four great-granddaughters, however her first pride and joys were her three sisters and six brothers. She also leaves behind many other family and friends, who will miss her laughter and easy wit.
A celebration of Melody’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 22, at the Chihuahua Bible Chapel in Veguita, with Pastor Len Ridley officiating.

Jose G. Flores
1945-2014
Jose G. Flores, age 68, a resident of Belen, passed away on Friday, March 14.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Magdalena Lovato Flores; and brothers, Albino and Desi Flores.
Jose is survived by his sons, Ricky, David and Ricky Lu Flores; seven brothers and sisters, Peggy Candelaria, Rachael Saiz and husband, Sammy, Lucy Baker and husband, Gary, Pete Flores, Paul and wife, Geneva, Molly Jakobs and husband, Klint, Christine Coker and husband, Pat. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A visitation and Rosary were held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 19. Interment will be held at a later date.

DeLila “Lila” Harper
1928-2014
DeLila “Lila” Harper, age 85, a resident of Bosque Farms, passed away on Sunday, March 16.
She was born to Charles Wilmer and Stella Mae Finley on July 14, 1928, in Pilgrim, Mo. She was the youngest of 10 children. Lila, along with her husband, Adrian, pastored numerous churches in New Mexico and founded Hosanna Assembly of God in 1987. They traveled into Mexico as Missionary Evangelists and held revivals in many states in the United States.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents, all nine of her siblings, her husband, Adrian; daughter, Norma Moss; son, Joe Salazar; and granddaughter, Carolyn Ann Moss.
She is survived by her children, Rudy and Donna, Johnny and Ruthann, Steve and Paula, Lynn and Jim, and Darlene and Karey; grandchildren, JD Moss, Scott Moss, Cheryl Nelson, Barbara Clower, Phillip Nelson, Bill Moss, Bo Harper, Bryan Harper, Derek Harper, Nikolas Harper, Christopher Harvey, Donovin Harvey, Joshua Harvey and their spouses; and 14 great grandchildren; and her caregiver, Sherri Navarro.
A viewing will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, March 21, at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 22, at Remedy Church, 6415 Sage Road SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121, with the Revs. Clyde Johnson and Tommy Crider officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Lila’s grandsons, JD, Scott, Phillip, Bill, Bo, Bryan, Derek, Donovin and Joshua. Honorary pallbearers will be Nikolas Harper and Christopher Harvey.

Kevin Lee Knapp
1970-2014
Kevin Lee Knapp, age 43, passed away on Sunday, March 16.
He was born in El Paso, Texas, on May 22, 1970, and had been a resident of Las Lunas since 2001.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Sibby Inez Knapp and Lawrence and Anne Woznicki.
Kevin is survived by his father and mother, Jack and Patricia Knapp; brother, John, and his wife, Kaye; brother, Patrick, and his wife, Rosaura;  nephews, Phillip and Nicholas, and niece Kaitlyn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kevin attended Austin High School in El Paso, Texas; received his GED and graduated from Gary Job Corps Center in San Marcos, Texas, with welding and machinist certificates. He worked in construction and as a machine operator for the Solo Cup Company in Belen until he was no longer able due to the progression of the nerve disorder from which he suffered until his death.
Kevin was an ardent Green Bay Packer fan and a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. He loved to fish in the lakes and rivers of New Mexico.
Masses for the repose of his soul will be said at 10 a.m. on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday at San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town Albuquerque. The family will  receive friends on Easter Sunday, April 20, at their home  from 3 to 6 p.m. for a celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the charity of your choice or to medical research.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Belen Meadows Nursing Home and Hospice of the Sandias for the care given him in his final months.

Benjamin R. Robin
Died 2014
Benjamin R. Robin, age 92, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Sunday, March 16.
Mr. Robin is survived by his nieces and nephews, Carolyn Bader, James Tinsmith and wife, Kathy, Bill Atkinson and wife, Ann, Dennis Atkinson and wife, Sue, Yvonne Bach Eisen and husband, Bill, Jean McCrea and husband, Frank; sister in law, Sophie Robin Goodpasture and husband, Gary.
Mr. Robin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, manager of St. Vincent de Paul, an extraordinary minister to the homebound and was a retired teacher from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School.
In his long and productive life, he had operated an antique and collectibles business, worked in manufacturing as an electronic technician, managed a Circle K and volunteered as a literacy teacher. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Thursday, March 20, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Committal Service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 21, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Paul Lee Sheline
1925-2014
Paul Lee Sheline, age 88, a resident of Belen, passed away on March 13.  He was a member of New Life Fellowship Church in Belen.
He was preceded in death by Herman Sheline and Winifred Sheline; three brothers and two sisters; granddaughter, Rebecca Sheline; and grandson, Daniel McCartney.
Paul is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Victoria Lee and Kim Tunstall, Patricia and Richard McCartney, Mark and Marian Sheline, Sandra and Larry Thompson, Katie and Gabriel Serna; grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Kelly, Sharyn, Jeffrey, Richard, Christopher, Lisa, Micole, Daniel, Dominic and Sandra.
Services were held at New Life Fellowship on Monday, March 17, followed by a reception. Burial was held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 18.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey Alstatt, Richard Todd, Micole Serna, Daniel Serna, Dominic Serna and Sandra Serna.

Gregory Valadez
1931-2014
Gregory Valadez, age 82, a resident of Belen, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Gregory proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired as a master sergeant after 26 years of service.
He was always there for his family and there was nothing he would not do for them, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed golf, taking long walks and reading James Patterson books.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory and Josie Valadez; brothers, Louie and David; sisters, Vera Garcia, Nattie Almendarez and Esther Talley; and his beloved children, Brenda and Gregory.
Gregory is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kathy; step-daughters, Denise Bohannan and husband, Juston, and Suzanne Gabaldon; brother, Paul and wife, Marion; sisters, Rosie Lara, Maggie Juarez, Alice Easter and Mary Botts and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Megan Possion, Ashley Gabaldon, Gabriel Gabaldon and Kaleigh and Lauren Bohannan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Friday, March 21, beginning with a viewing at 9 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. Interment will be held at 12:45 p.m., Monday, March 24, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Barbara June White
1937-2014
Barbara June White, 76, a resident of Abeytas, passed away on Saturday, March 15.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Harold Rex White, in 2012; and her son, Mark D. White, in 2011.
Barbara is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and J.V. Day and Rosemary and Ronnie Burke; her four children, Lawrence White and girlfriend, Susie, Kelly White and wife, Lydia, Susan Aranda and husband, Frank, and Jeffery White; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Curtis and John White, Lori Davis, Kelly White Jr., Tina Felix, Julie Knight, Mark, Michelle and Joseph White; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 20, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, with a graveside service to be held at the San Antonio Catholic Cemetery fallowing the viewing.
