LL business robbed by man, woman
Los Lunas police are asking for the public's help in locating two people who they say robbed a Los Lunas business last week.
Officers were called to Oro Cash 4 Gold, located at 250 Main St. SE, at about 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, in reference to a robbery.
According to a press release, when the suspects, man and woman, walked into the business, the woman sprayed the clerk in the face with pepper spray while the man grabbed the clerk's purse from the counter. The two immediately left the area on foot.
When officers arrived at the business, they were told that one of the robbers left walking on Luna Avenue towards the San Clemente Catholic Church. LLPD officers saturated that area but didn't locate anyone matching the description of the suspects.
The woman is described as wearing shorts, a blue sweat shirt with the letters "CNM" on the front. She was also wearing round glasses and had a ponytail.
The man was described as wearing Army pants, an orange shirt, a dark-colored vest, a hat and had a tattoo on his face.
Los Lunas Police Detective Sgt. Denise Romero said she has received a couple of tips of who the robbers are, but none that have led to the arrest of the suspects.
Romero said the clerk didn't get hurt, other than the after-effects of the pepper spray. The detective said the robbers only got away with the clerk's property and didn't take anything from the business.
While the robbery was caught on video from the store's surveillance system, detectives say they weren't able to recognize the suspects. Romero said the man looks to be older than the woman.
The Los Lunas Police Department is asking the public's assistance in identifying these suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call LLPD at 839-3855 or Sgt. Romero at 363-9930.
