Donna Balzarano, age 69, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, June 10.
She was a dedicated mother and animal lover, who enjoyed drawing and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Balzarano; parents, Stephen and Alice Kowalski; and granddaughter, Jillian.
Donna is survived by her children, Steven Hammonds and Chrissy, Dawn Hammonds, Willy Hammonds and Tina Tannoya; 14 grandchildren, including Phillip, Nathaniel, Christopher, Zandrea and Kayla Nicole; six great-grandchildren; brother, Skipper; sister, Stephie; and two nieces.
Services were held at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel on Saturday, June 14.

Emilia Castillo Boehler
Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on June 13, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Cecilia Vallejos and Jose and Sophia Castillo; her sister, Nina Vialpando; and brothers-in-law Fred Luna and Tony Vialpando.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Boehler; sisters, Consuelo Luna and Nathalia Gallagher and husband, William Gallagher; daughters, Mary Ann Boehler, Patricia Maestas and husband, Racey Maestas; sons, Charles Boehler and wife, Diane, Richard Boehler and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Ben Dackiewicz and wife, Vanessa, Paul Dackiewicz and wife, Lacee, Jackie Loftus and husband, James, Robert Maestas, Kathryn Asplund and husband, Michael, Nicole Maas; great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Elijah, Emilee, Mackenzie, Samuel, Noah, Austin, Adam and Xavier; and many nieces and nephews.
Emilia was born and grew up in Los Lunas, then moved to Albuquerque as a young adult, where she lived the rest of her life. She was devoted to her family and was an avid gardener, making many friends as she shared her love of gardens and flowers.
She also enjoyed helping to clothe the homeless and was always happy to share her many gifts and talents.
Services will be held at San Clemente Catholic Church, 244 Luna Ave NE, Los Lunas, at 10 a.m., Friday, June 20. Burial will follow at the San Clemente Catholic Cemetery, 137 Chavez Lane., Los Lunas.

Fedelino Edwell, 92, of Belen, passed away Monday, June 9, at home peacefully. He was born on April 10, 1922.
He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from Sandia National Labs with 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his son, Cristino Edwell, on Feb. 8, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Socorro (Susie) Edwell, of 68 years of marriage; four children and their spouses, Demmy Edwell, Patty Bixby, Veronica Gutierrez and Phil Edwell; sister, Eleanor and husband, Don Belew, of California; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and his two best friends, who were close and dear to him, Gerald Garcia and Frank Francia.
He will truly be missed.
John Thomas “JT” Eppard
John Thomas “JT” Eppard, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, June 13, at the age of 75.
All services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 19, beginning with a viewing at 11 a.m., with a funeral service to be held at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery.

Helen Ericson, age 93, born in Denver, Colo., passed away June 5, at the Goodlife Assisted Living facility in Los Lunas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rand Ericson, a WII veteran, in 2008.
She is survived by her son, Lynn Ericson and wife, Roberta, of Hightstown, N.J.; daughter, Ann Booker, of Los Chavez; grandchildren, Todd Ericson and wife, Karen, J.D. Booker and wife, Jill, Krista McGlasson and husband, J.J.; and great-granddaughter, Amanda McGlasson.
Helen loved sunsets, nature and helping people. She was an MYF leader and 4H leader. While living in Massachusetts, she volunteered at Job Corp and the Shaker Historical Village. She picked wild berries in Massachusetts and made jam for the Shaker Village to sell.
Helen and Rand moved to Los Lunas in 1980 to help Larry and Ann Booker, owners of Thunderbird Travel. Helen delivered tickets and baked goodies for the employees.
Her ashes, along with Rand’s, will be scattered in the mountains of Colorado, where they liked to camp, hike, and Rand fished.
The family would like to thank everyone at Goodlife for the excellent, loving care she received there.
Leo Gabaldon, age 75, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, June 17.
He was a member of the Greater Belen Chamber of Commerce, serving as president in 1978. Leo was a proud franchise owner of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Belen for 27 years. He was employed with the BNSF Railroad as a bill clerk for 16 years of outstanding service and managed Mountain View Motel for eight years.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Loretta Gabaldon; parents, Preciliano and Andrea Baca Gabaldon; brothers, Edwin, Chris and Leroy Gabaldon; and sisters, Helen Erwin, Julia Pena and Alvina Verguson.
Leo is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Louisa Gabaldon; children, Velda Lovato and husband, Anthony, and James R. Gabaldon and wife, Greta; grandchildren, Jesse Gabaldon, Justin Gabaldon and wife, Denise, Karl Benavidez, Kerissa Rice and husband, Derek, Zachery Lovato and wife, Maricruz, and Shane Lovato; great-grandchildren, Lily James Rice, Brock Rice, Landon Antonio Gabaldon, Kerra Bernadette Rasband and Yesenia Aguilar Benavidez; and sisters, Virginia Sanchez, Emillie Subblet and Laura Butler.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Friday, June 20, beginning with a viewing at 8:30 a.m., a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Gabaldon, Justin Gabaldon, Karl Benavidez, Kerrisa Rice Gabaldon, Zachary Lovato and Shane Lovato.

Elias Perea Sr.
Elias Perea Sr., age 72, a resident of Peralta, was called home to our heavenly father on Wednesday, June 11.
He was blessed to have all his loving family at his side as he left to meet our Lord. Elias loved working outdoors and loved farming. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
His true love was his family. He always had a big smile, always laughing and joking around with his grandchildren. Elias will be truly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maximo and Lupe Vargas Perea; six brothers and two sisters.
Elias is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lourdes Garcia Perea; children, Max, Albert and wife, Shawna, Lisa and husband, Joe, and Elias Jr. and partner, Mabel; grandchildren, Alberto, Desiré, Elizabeth, Lourdes, Rolando, Justin, Loddy, Derrick, Melody, Jordan, Elias III, Amanda, Jesse and Nicole; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Carlos and wife, Carmen, Shay and Moises and wife, Naomi; sisters, Prescilla and Ercilia.
A funeral service was held at Christian Fellowship Church, 628 Los Lentes, Friday, June 13. Interment will be held at a later date.
