Clyde G. Barlow
1932-2014
Clyde G. Barlow, age 81, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Monday, June 30.
Services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 427 Los Lentes Road NE, Los Lunas.

Geraldine L. Benavidez
Died 2014
Geraldine L. Benavidez, age 56, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Friday, June 27.
She was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church.

Eva L. Cordova
1933-2014
Eva L. Cordova, age 80, a lifetime resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Early on in her life, she worked at several places in Los Lunas, including the Huning Mercantile and the Los Lunas movie theater. While working at the theater, she met the love of her life, Marcelino, known to her as “Bache.”
Her greatest joy was being a rancher’s wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Her life’s happiness was spending time with her husband and family and watching it grow to several generations.
She was best known for her wonderful baking and cooking skills, and never let anyone go hungry in her house.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marcelino J. Cordova; parents, Ramon and Theresa Luna; sisters, Mela Garcia, Virginia Carrasco and Reina Luna; and brother, Fred Luna; granddaughter, Maria Antoinette Otero; and in-laws, Andres and Ignacita Cordova.
Eva is survived by her children and their spouses, Andy Cordova and wife, Diane, Debra Cordova, Loretta Otero and husband, Rick, Annette Otero and husband, Anthony, and Kathy Cordova; grandchildren, Stephanie Cook and husband, Scot, Andy Pete Cordova and Brenda, Tamara Cordova and Johnny, Kevin Otero and Danielle, Tarah Santana and husband, J.R., Janelle Gonzales and husband, Marcos, Ashley Sanchez, Anthony (Hito) Otero, Yani Cordova, Maria Reina Cordova and Kelly Lopez; great-grandchildren, Aysia, Alyssa, Kaylee, Ashley, Justin, Bryce, Alexia, Marissa, Dominic, Kaylee, Jenavyve, Bella, Ilianna, Riley and Baby Gonzales; and brothers, Pat Luna and wife, Betty, and Richard Luna and wife, MaryLou. She is also remembered by special nephews, Rick and Paul Luna; a special niece, Avalon Cordova; and many other loving family members.
All services will be held at San Clemente Catholic Church on Saturday, July 5, beginning with a visitation at 8:30 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at San Clemente Catholic Cemetery.

Marian M. Hathaway
1931-2014
Marian M. Hathaway, age 82, born in St. Paul, Minn., and a resident of Belen, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
She graduated from Kingman High School in Kingman, Ariz., in 1950. After high school, she moved back to Minnesota and raised her family. In the early 1950s, Marian started in the computer field working in data processing until moving to Belen in 1977.
She opened a bookstore and operated it for four years. Marian then returned to data processing, working for the Department of Energy in Gallup as a consultant. Later, she worked for the First National Bank of Belen as a data processing supervisor.
Marian loved reading, crossword puzzles and going to the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.W. and Dorothy Varnum Haeusler.
Marian is survived by her sons, James and companion, Mary Ellen Chavez, of New Mexico, Verlyn and wife, Ginger, of Minnesota, and Joe Wayne of New Mexico; and three grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m.,  Thursday, July 10, with a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m., with Pastor Boyd Morerod officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Ambercare Hospice, especially Ann and Rachel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Mexico Animal Humane Society or the local animal rescue organization.

Leon B. Othart
1931-2014
Leon B. Othart, age 83, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Leon was born on a family farm in Juxue, France, where they raised cattle and sheep. He proudly served in the French military and was honorably discharged.
In 1953, America was calling with big dreams and he moved to Chino, Calif. After five years of working and learning the dairy farming trade with his cousin, he moved to Tolleson, Ariz., where he met his lovely wife of 50 years, Johanna Van Loon. They were married on Dec. 28, 1963, and moved to Los Lunas and started their own dairy farm business.
As his business grew, he also branched out into farming and enjoyed producing and hauling his own feed and dairy products. Driving semi-trucks and raising his horses was his passion.
His six children and seven granddaughters were his pride and joy. Leon had many genuine characteristics that made him special. He was extremely generous, honest, loyal and a fair and hardworking business man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent and Catherine Beloscar Othart; and two sisters, Josephine and Mari Jane Othart.
Leon is survived by his loving wife, Johanna Van Loon Othart; son, Laurent and his wife, Jennifer; son, Maurice; daughter, Christine and her husband, Jim Pekin; daughter, Francine and her husband, Mike Tomas; daughter, Claudette and her husband, Rod Michael; and son, Leon Andre; seven granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Meghan, Francesca, Alessandra, Olivia, Emma and Anikah; brother, Andre Othart; and sister, Pascaline Ourthiague and her husband, George Ruckstuhl.
All services were held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Friday, June 27, with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. Interment followed at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque.
Pallbearers were Jason Corrao, Pete McCatharn, Chuck Hammer, Charles Storey, Michael Weatherly and Frank Niner.
