Eugene Lee Brown
1950-2014
Eugene Lee Brown, age 64, a resident of Los Lunas, entered Heaven on Friday, July 25, 2014, in Albuquerque.
Gene was born in Chariton, Iowa, on Jan. 7, 1950, to Oral and Maxine Brown. He grew up in Osceola, Iowa, and graduated from Osceola High School in 1968. He graduated from AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1970.
He worked for the Des Moines Register and the clothing and shoe business in Des Moines. When Gene moved to Albuquerque, he worked in the shoe business until joining the team at Jaycor/L-3 Communications as a security administrator until his retirement in May 2014.
Gene enjoyed volunteering at Covenant United Methodist Church in Albuquerque until his move to Los Lunas, where he was active at First Baptist Church Belen. He enjoyed gardening, college football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored.
Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and his heart’s desire was that others would come to understand the peace only Jesus can give.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Nardie.
He is survived by his, father Oral (Maxine) Brown; his wife, Ginger Brown of Los Lunas; daughters, Heidi (Bryan) Henderson of Rio Rancho, Renee (Wes) Wade of Glendale, Ariz.; two brothers, Charles (Elva) Brown of Las Vegas, Nev., Bruce (Elizabeth) Brown of Rhodes, Iowa; sister, Pam (Mike) Coley of El Dorado, Kan.; several nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Diane (Grotegut) Brown of Albuquerque; Gene’s  step-children are Laura (Mike) Warne of Prescott, Ariz., Sandra Arocha of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Matt (Karla) Altfeltis of Longmont, Colo. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one soon-to-be-born grandson.
His story is continuing in Heaven.
Gene’s funeral service was held Tuesday, July 29, at First Baptist Church Belen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Belen Children and Youth Ministries or the charity of your choice.

Espidirion “Speedy” Vallejos
1937-2014
Espidirion “Speedy” Vallejos, age 77, a resident of Belen, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014.
Speedy proudly served his county in the United States Air National Guard. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Lions Club.
Speedy is the owner and operator of Speedy Incorporation in Belen. Speedy was a retired special education teacher from the Belen High School after many years of outstanding service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Justa Sisneros Ballejos; brother, Mike Vallejos; sister, Luisa Silva; and nephew, Manuel Silva Jr.
Speedy is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Viola Gabaldon Vallejos; sons, Michael and wife, Lesli, and Richard and wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Diane Vallejos-Post and husband, Michael; son, Randy and fiancé, Margaret Castillo; brother, Ernest Vallejos; sisters, Mary Baca, Angie Silva and husband, Alex, Marcella Gomez and husband, Paul; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A viewing and Rosary were held on Tuesday, July 29, and a Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, July 30, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, with Father Stephen Schultz presiding.
Interment followed at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Michael, Richard, Randy, Robert and Christian Vallejos and DJ Bustos. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Aragon, Don Wood, Jerry Rogers, Marty Baldonado and Clifford Garley.
