A LECTURE, “El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora de Belen: Early Settlement and Social Structures,” will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Belen Public Library. Samuel Sisneros, a historian and archivist at the UNM Center for Southwest Research, will give a presentation on the early historical migrations, plaza settlements, base population and the social and racial makeup of Belen during the 1700s.
THE BELEN ART LEAGUE’S “Black and White and Shades of Gray Art Show” will be held until Aug. 21. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the garden with live entertainment with Noe Lara. This show is open to all mediums.
