Arthur Patrick Lovato

Arthur Patrick Lovato, age 68, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family by his side on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018.

He graduated from Belen High School in 1969, and that same year he married his loving wife of 49 years, Florence Otero-Lovato.

Art served in the US Air Force, as well as six years in the New Mexico National Guard as an aircraft mechanic. He was a retired construction salesman. Art also loved airplanes and worked at Cutter Aviation.

He was currently a Los Lunas Schools bus driver and loved his school kids. Art was a very smart and skilled man who could plan and do anything. He always had a project planned and going, whether it was at his home or helping many people with his wide expertise.

Art is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Adela Lovato; his brothers, Gilbert and Cirio; his sister, Kate and grandson, Nathaniel.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Adela (Jason) Gurule, Anita (Christopher) Lozano and, Alberta (Keith) Lovato; his grandchildren, Patricia (Anthony) Jojola, Patrick Jojola, Zaida Gurule, Izabella Lozano, Amris Gurule; great-grandson, Brendan Flores; sister, Betty (Leroy) Garcia; brother, Rosendo, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Judith “Judy” E. Padilla (Bibiano)

Judith “Judy” E. Padilla (Bibiano), age 53, a resident of Belen, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018.

She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, where she often prayed the Rosary. Judith loved writing poetry, spending time with her family and always had a smile on her face and a heart of gold.

She is preceded in death by her father, Saturnino Bibiano; brother, Raymond Chavez; and grandparents, Arturo and Lola Montano.

Judith is survived by her parents, Jose and Rosemary Marquez; son, Raymond Padilla; daughters, Erica and Elizabeth Padilla (Mike Rodriguez); brothers, Mark Bibiano and Junior Marquez; sisters, Rosanne (Robert) Baca, Linda Ortiz (Bobby Baca), Annette Marquez (Jason Brousseau) and Bernice Jaramillo; and grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jeremiah, Jacob, Jayden and Xavier.

Judy will always be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Friday, Dec. 21. A public visitation will begin at 9 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.

Antonia B. Romero

Antonia B. Romero, age 93, passed away peacefully on Dec. 13, 2018.

She was born and lived in Las Nutrias, N.M.

Antonia is preceded in death by her husband, Cayetano Romero. She is the oldest surviving member of her generation (Romero and Barela) family.

Antonia is survived by her six children, Felix (Jane) Romero, Adela (Robert) Sanchez, Alicia (Barry) Aguilar, Toby, Gilbert (Jo Ann Gray) and Irene (Doug) Handley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were at the San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias, Saturday Dec, 15, followed by burial at San Isidro Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Daryl Sanchez, Nicholas Aguilar, Dustin Handley, Eric Romero, Bo Arbuckle and Doug Pechal. Honorary pallbearer was Tommy Tucker.
