Marie Chavez

Marie Chavez, age 59, a resident of Los Lunas, peacefully passed away on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Marie Chavez; father, Agustin Somera; mother-in-law, Angelina Chavez; and brother-in-law, Marty Chavez.

She is survived by her, husband Adolfo Chavez; her loving children, Joseph, Daniel and wife, Amanda, and Valerie and husband, Jordan Linton; granddaughter, Scarlett; mother, Aurora Somera; sisters, Patsy and husband, Daniel Torres, Dora and husband, Michael Armijo, and Lorie Vigil; sisters-in-law, Annie Lucero and Dorothy Dominguez; brother-in-law, Greg Chavez; and many other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Torres, Tommy Gurule, Michael Armijo, Dennis Torres, Adam Baca and Luis Espinosa. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Vigil, Adrian Torres, Zachary Torres and Steven Law.

All services will take place at San Clemente Catholic Church on Friday, Sept. 28, beginning with a public viewing from 3:30–4:30 p.m., a Rosary at 4:30 p.m., and a Funeral Mass at 5 p.m. Interment will take place at the Valencia Catholic Cemetery.

Angelina Garcia

Died 2018

Angelina Garcia, age 91, a resident of Belen, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2018.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin B. Garcia; daughter, Theresa Wawro and her husband, Michael; sister, Lydia Cortez; brothers, Joe Trujillo and Dan Trujillo and his wife, Bennie; and grandchildren, Michael Wawro and Christy Kemp and her husband, Kevin.

Angelina was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Rumalda Trujillo; her son, Raymond Garcia; her sister, Refujia; and brothers, Alfredo, Arsenio, Eloy, Rosendo, Ray, Horacio, Sesario and Pat Trujillo.

All services will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Monday, Oct. 1. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., a Rosary at 10 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Dolores Arline Hull

Dolores Arline Hull

Dolores Arline Hull, age 89, passed away on Sept. 14, 2018.

She was born in Wilmington, Calif., on May 7, 1929, to William and Sophia Delay.

Dolores joins the love of her life in heaven, Edward Vernon Hull; as well as her eldest son, Jerry.

She and her family moved from California to Los Chavez in 1963. Dolores dearly loved her family, gardening and working out in her yard. Her and her husband also enjoyed bowling, and were familiar faces at Sugar Bowl Lanes in Belen.

Dolores also enjoyed sewing and quilting at the Senior Center in Rio Communities, and belonged to Beta Sigma Phi Belen Chapter.

She is survived by her older brother, L.A. Delay; and her baby sister, Pat Brady, both of California; many nieces and nephews; her children, Rick (Juanita), Jim (Dianne), David (Debbie), Janet, Bill and Arline (Nick); daughter-in-law, Linda; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; and awesome and loving friends, Bert West and Barbie DeLaCruz.

Special thanks to Lupita, Comfort Keepers and to all who cared for her from Compassus.

We will gather at First Baptist Church, 9 Los Chavez Park, in Los Chavez at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, for a viewing, and a service at 11 a.m. A reception will follow.

Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., 864-4448.

Paul Sánchez

Paul Sánchez

1958-2018

Paul Sánchez, age 59, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sept. 20, 2018, while vacationing with family in Red River.

He was born in Belen. Paul was living in Roswell with his life partner and best friend, Rose Perez. Paul retired as a material handler for Sandia National Laboratories in 2008, after 30 years of service.

He was an avid and loyal fan of the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Lakers. Paul enjoyed many years coaching his son’s Little League teams, and supported his boy’s wrestling for more than 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Celso and Eloisa Sánchez; maternal grandparents, Pablo and Manuelita Sánchez, of Belen; and paternal grandparents, Atanacio and Felicita Sánchez, of Los Chavez.

Paul is survived by his sons, Bryan and Jonathan Sánchez; the mother of his children, Dolores Sánchez; grandchildren, Bryan Jr., Dylan and Jaycee Sánchez; brothers, Henry Sánchez and wife, Linda, Robert Sánchez and wife, Frances, and Raymond Sanchez; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be sons, Bryan and Jonathan Sánchez; grandchildren, Bryan Jr. and Dylan Sánchez, Richard Sánchez, Eric Sánchez, Jay Shiplet and Ricky Salas. Granddaughter, Jaycee Sánchez, will be an honorary pallbearer.

All services were held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, with a Rosary on Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Funeral Mass on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Interment followed at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
