Highland Meadows Hollywood came to the western Valencia County community of Highland Meadows on Tuesday as a scene for a TV-series pilot, In Plain Sight, was filmed at the Wild Horse Mesa bar.

Production, makeup, costume and actor's trailers along with a caterer's wagon moved into the Highland Meadows Fire Station property early in the morning in preparation for the 100 crew members gathered for the last of the 20-day filming schedule for a 90-minute show.

In Plain Sight if picked up by NBC will be a series about a no-nonsense federal marshal, Mary Shannon, who has convinced her friends that she is a parking attendant, but really works in the witness protection program of the FBI.

Mary McCormack, who has 35 film and television credits to her name, plays Shannon. In Tuesday's scene she goes to the Wild Horse Mesa Bar looking for a suspect.

Prior to shooting the scene, the old watering hole received an interior facelift, including addition of a a bar and booths to fill in around the Wild Horse Mesa's pool table.

Other scenes for the show have been filmed in the Albuquerque area, including at the city's transportation center at Central and First Street.

The drama is directed by Mark Piznarski, who has also directed Soccer Moms, the TV series Still Life and episodes of NYPD Blue and American Dreams.

The screenplay is written by David Maples, who also wrote for Disney's Teacher's Pet TV series, Home Improvement and Rugrats.

McCormack's most recent work has been as Kate Harper on The West Wing during the last three seasons. Prior to that, she play Debbie on ER.

Joining McCormack as cast members are Paul Ben-Victor, Jeremiah Bitsui, Yorgo Constantine, Nichole Hiltz, Lesley Ann Warren, Fred Weller and Todd Williams.

Jessica Nevarez, NBC press manager, said the pilot will be aired sometime during the summer. But, she said, options for the series have not been picked up at this time.
