BELEN—Belen Railway Employees Credit Union held their grand opening ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 18, at its new location, 300 N. Sixth St. in Belen.

BRECU has been servicing BNSF employees and their families since 1955, making it one of the oldest of financial institutions in Belen.

The new facility is equipped with the latest in state-of-the-art banking technology, said Gerry Troyer, CEO. Credit unions are not-for-profit and member owned.

BRECU wanted a building that their members would be proud of and shows them they’re committed to helping them with all their financial needs, said Troyer.

“We love this town and wanted to show our support to the community and to the economic growth of Belen,” Troyer said. “BRECU has been going strong for over 62 years and we plan on remaining strong and independent for many years to come.”

BRECU welcomes the public to stop by and checkout the new facility. To see if you qualify for membership, call 864-4740.
