We might be in the middle of a pandemic, but that is good cause to discover and rediscover some of your favorite businesses right here in Valencia County.

The Valencia County News-Bulletin is once again presenting our annual Best of Valencia County competition.

This friendly contest is meant to recognize the great local people and businesses here in our communities.

So tell us, who makes the best beef jerky? Where is the best art gallery? Who’s your favorite hairdresser?

This is your chance to vote for the people and places nearest and dearest to your hearts.

There are 65 categories this year, so take a look and name your favorites — from your favorite place for ice cream to the person who takes care of your furry friends.

To tempt you just a little more, we’re entering everyone who sends in a ballot in a drawing for dinner for two at this year’s Best Restaurant. Be sure to include your name and contact information on the ballot. Without that, the ballot won’t be accepted. Each person can only vote once.

When you fill out the ballot, please be specific in your answers, use first and last names of people you vote for and locations for your favorites, if there’s more than one.

The deadline for ballot submissions is 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30. The winners will be featured in a special section in the Thursday, Dec. 17, edition of the News-Bulletin.

Drop off your ballot or mail it to Best of Valencia County, c/o Valencia County News-Bulletin, 221 S. Main Street, Ste. B, Belen, N.M., 87002, or email it to cgarcia@news-bulletin.com.

The ballot can be downloaded, filled out and saved to submit by email.
