High school rodeo circuit comes to Belen

The Directors Rodeo, a New Mexico High School Rodeo event, will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Valencia County Fairgrounds in Belen.

Events begin at 9 a.m. each day.

The rodeo will feature several local cowboys and cowgirls, including Brock Dearing, Shiann Irwinn, Seth Hall, Clint King, Cathy Long, Amber Gillreath, Jordan Torres, Ryan Cook, Raquel Amestoy, Davree Higdon and Shauni Gibson.

Also scheduled to participate is reigning New Mexico High School Rodeo Queen Ashley TenBrink, a Belen native.
