The 2013-14 season was a banner one for Belen, Los Luans and Valenca as all three made the state tournament, with the Jaguars getting to the Class 4A Final Four and the Tigers making a second straight state title game.
With district champs Belen and third-place Valencia assumed to be in, the only drama surrounding Saturday's announcement of the Class 5A State Football Playoffs field was whether Los Lunas would join them in the post-season.
