1,000 Santas bring festive magic to local family’s home

Tucked away in Valencia County, a home has become a sanctuary of Christmas cheer, with more than 1,000 Santa Claus decorations adorning its rooms, transforming the ordinary into an extraordinary winter wonderland.

The annual tree lighting and Santa Claus is Coming to Town event was held at the Los Lunas Transportation Center, 101 Courthouse Road, Los Lunas. Stockings were given out to all kids and Santa took pictures with the kids! 6 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023. Los Lunas, New Mexico.

PHOTOS: Santa Stampede 5K 2022

The 919th MP Co. New Mexico Army National Guard and the city of Belen hosted the Santa’s Stampede 5K run, walk, double time, below, on Sunday, Dec. 4. About 100 runners and walkers entered the race, which started at the Belen Community Center. Dominic Quintana, a sophomore at Albuquerque High School, won the race with a time of 17:27. Pat and Denise Contreras and their daughter, DamiAna Kerns, dressed up in holiday attire for the run.
