BHS students earn way to state, competing in business law, math

Six Belen High School business students headed to state competition to demonstrate their skills.

The students earned passage to state at the Business Professionals of America regional competition by placing in the top four in various categories.

Julia Montoya earned firsts in fundamental word processing, legal office procedures and business law, and fifths in financial math and analysis and information technology concepts.

Daniel Varela took firsts in Microsoft network administration and information technology concepts, second in business law and third in administrative support concepts.

Joann Sedillo was first in administrative support concepts, second in medical office procedures, third in information technology concepts, fourth in fundamental word processing and fifth in business law.

Naomi Covarrubia finished second in banking and finance, legal office procedures and information technology concepts, third in business law, fourth in administrative support concepts and sixth in financial math and analysis.

Samantha Varela was fourth in banking and finance, and information technology concepts, fifth in medical office procedures and administrative support concepts, and sixth in business law.

Felicia Saavedra was fourth in medical office procedures and sixth in banking and finance.
