Eleanor Theresa Aragon
1942-2025
Eleanor Theresa Aragon, age 83, of Tomé, passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2025.
Born on Oct. 15, 1942, Eleanor lived a life centered on faith, family and service to her community. Eleanor was known for her deep devotion to her family and to her Catholic faith.
Strong-willed, loyal and endlessly giving, she touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity. She had a special love for children and spent many years working as a bus driver for the Tomé-Adelino Head Start program, where her kindness and steady presence were cherished by the children she transported and the families she served.
A talented cook and a natural caretaker, Eleanor made her home a place of comfort, nourishment and unconditional love. Her service extended far beyond her family — she faithfully volunteered as the financial secretary for the St. Vincent de Paul Society at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tomé, offering help and compassion to those in need.
Eleanor is survived by her loving husband, Buddy Aragon; her children, Victor Aragon and wife, Darlene, Denise Regalado and husband, Leroy, Eric Aragon and his partner, Melinda Dominguez, and Lenore Gillespie and husband, Daren.
She is also survived by her brother, Eloy Tapia; her grandchildren, Nicole Sers and husband, Josh, Erika Talbot; Victor Jr. Aragon, John Brian Talbot, Lukas Aragon and his wife, Caitlin, Lisanna Salas and husband, Santiago, and Jenae Aragon; along with 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benny and Lydia Tapia; her sisters, Connie Hernandez, Dolly Trujillo and Viola Tapia; and her brothers, Stevie Tapia and Benny Ray Tapia.
Honoring her wishes, we won’t be holding traditional services. Instead, our family and friends will come together after Christmas for a small ceremony at the cemetery to celebrate her life and say our goodbyes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of the Tomé Immaculate Conception Church, an organization close to Eleanor’s heart.
Eleanor will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her fierce loyalty and her quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service and devotion that will continue in the hearts of all who knew her.
